XO, OX A Love Story

An interesting story that explores the nature of vanity.  An ox writes fan letters to a famous gazelle who is rude and vain.  Despite her rebuffs the ox keep writing telling her how wonderful she is.  Throughout their correspondence there are subtle changes in the Gazelle's writings and how she responds.  What is really great about this book though is what is not written. The child needs to fill in the ending and what happens and why, something kids do not really get to do.  A great way to start a conversation about relationships and even friendships.
