Claymates

Petty tells the story of what happens with two balls of clay.  We first meet them when they are just blobs and they don't know what to expect.  Then a person molds them with tools into cute animals, but then the person leaves them alone and they are left to adjust with their new shapes.  The rest of the book we get to see them adjust and explore their clay selves, and figure out how to shape and mold themselves into different ways.  Kids will love to see all of the different shapes they make and have fun when they run into trouble and don't get their shapes quite right.
